The 2022 MLB season has come to a close and it rates as the most watched season ever on MLB.TV.
The league’s streaming service for out-of-market games registered 11.5 billion minutes watched. That represents the most minutes watched in the service’s 20-year history and the first time MLB.TV has surpassed 11 billion minutes watched.
The service is up 9.8% over last season’s numbers that went over 10.5 billion minutes watched which was the previous record. Of the ten most-watched games in MLB.TV’s history, the top five and nine of the top ten, came in 2022. The most-watched game this season, and ever for MLB.TV was Opening Day for the Red Sox-Yankees on April 8.
