Fox And Friends host Steve Doocy joined The Mark Simone Show on 710 WOR Friday to discuss he and his wife’s new cookbook “The Simply Happy Cookbook”, and Doocy admitted he’s a big fan of Simone’s.
“There are all sorts of voices on the radio and on television. That’s part of the beauty of broadcasting,” Doocy said after Simone asked why MSNBC thinks anyone wants to see “four eggheads” discuss anything on Morning Joe. “Like you — your show — it’s number one in New York by a mile. I’ve been listening for years. We are such fans. My wife will quote you. I’ll come in the house and she’ll say ‘Did you hear what Mark Simone said?’ Nope, because I was leaf blowing. She’ll tell me, and I’ll say ‘That guy’s hilarious’.”
Simone asked Doocy what it’s like to now see his son, Peter, ascend to become one of the top White House reporters in the country, and the Fox News host had a sentimental response.
“Just imagine you are watching a White House briefing and the tall man, blonde man, who just asked a really tough question is the kid who used to live at the top of your stairs in your house,” Doocy said. “It’s like ‘How did that happen? How did that kid go from our house to the White House?’ But he’s a great reporter and we couldn’t be more excited for him because he is asking a lot of interesting questions that nobody else is asking.”
