Many in the news media are discussing the verdict that will have InfoWars’ Alex Jones pay nearly $1 billion to the victims of the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting.
ABC’s “The View” was one of many outlets sharing their take on the matter, with host Sara Haines saying that, above monetary punishment, Jones deserves to feel “even a fraction of the pain” endured by the parents of those kids.
“The damage he has caused to these people, beyond the worst pain you can feel in life, which is losing your child — they live with that. And they can never fill that hole,” Haines said on Thursday’s show.
“To finally have some accountability, I just want him — I don’t say this lightly — to feel even a fraction of the pain they have felt for the rest of his life.”
Haines wasn’t alone regarding her remarks as the rest of the panel echoed the sentiments, with co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin noting that she doesn’t enjoy name-calling but did have a few select words for Jones — including “vile scumbag.”
