SiriusXM host Howard Stern compared rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, to Hitler and said that he’s using mental health as an excuse to go on antisemitic rants.
According to Breitbart, Stern made the comments during his show Wednesday and said that he doesn’t want to give any more publicity to West than he’s already receiving.
“I don’t know much about Kanye West. I’m not big into the rap scene, but — I’m tired of people excusing his behavior, by saying, ‘Well, he’s just mentally ill,’” Stern said.
Stern, who is Jewish, said he was picked on frequently when he was growing up. He said his attackers accused the Jews of “killing Jesus.”
“I don’t know Jesus, I don’t know anyone named Jesus,” Stern said. “There’s this idea that you grow up rich or you’re in some secret organization and Jews get to be rich and control the world. Well s***t, you should meet my relatives, there isn’t a rich one in there.”
Stern urged people to watch Ye’s recent interview with News Nation’s Chris Cuomo which became heated at times.
“And f**k this ‘mental illness’ self-defense thing that he’s into, you know, like, ‘Oh yeah, he’s just mentally ill. Don’t worry about it,’” Stern added. “If he’s so mentally ill. Why don’t they appoint a conservator over his money like they did with the poor Britney Spears?”
