The legend of Rush Limbaugh lives on through a new book that will be released soon called “Radio’s Greatest of All Time” written by Limbaugh’s widow, Kathryn, and his brother David.

On Tuesday, Kathryn Adams Limbaugh appeared on Glenn Beck’s radio show to discuss her husband’s legacy and his final days battling lung cancer.

“He was a boy from Missouri who just wanted to be on the radio since he was eight,” she said. “But he never dreamed that he would be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.”

According to Limbaugh, that honor was bestowed upon her late husband by former President Donald Trump one night before he was scheduled to have major surgery.

“That night meant everything to him,” Limbaugh said. “He was very surprised by it, we were actually in Boston. He had geared up to make the announcement [about his cancer diagnosis] on the radio and thought that that was basically it, that the secret was out.”

She added that they left for Boston following the shocking revelation of his cancer diagnosis but were summoned to Washington by Trump who did not disclose how he planned to honor him.

“He was incredibly brilliant, incredibly kind, fearless, exceptionally talented, and he was truly gifted,” Limbaugh said. “I believe one of his attributes that we all loved was that he was so humble. He never forgot the little guy, he never got too big.”

At its peak, “The Rush Limbaugh Show” aired on more than 650 radio stations nationwide.
