Senator Ted Cruz appeared on “The View” Monday, and there was a hiccup when a climate activist derailed the interview. However, the politician says that the panel was more flustered than he was.
Cruz spoke to “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday, discussing what occurred during the interview where the senator was there to promote his new book and challenge the host on particular subjects, but had an interruption from the protesters.
“I think they were embarrassed,” Cruz said (h/t Mediaite). “There were two instances where they had protesters that began screaming and cursing and yelling, ‘F you.’ It’s not clear to me if they were necessarily triggered by me. They were screaming about climate change.”
“I think the hosts were a little bit rattled. They said in the entire history of the show they’ve never had anyone do that. I think they were more rattled than I was,” he said. “I’m like, look, this is politics. They are being knuckleheads. I sort of laughed and kept on going. That’s just part of the world we live in now.”
Additionally, the “Fox & Friends” panel discussed Cruz’s reception while at Yankee Stadium watching Game 4 between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees.
The politician shrugged off the negative remarks made toward him.
