With his upcoming induction into the Radio Hall of Fame, SiriusXM honored host Chris “Mad Dog” Russo with a two-hour special broadcast.
Top Dog: Celebrating the Hall of Fame Career of Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo welcomed several prominent sports figures, as well as David Letterman. Mad Dog appeared on Letterman’s late night show 37 times.
“I was very excited when you and a handful of other people would come on, because I knew I could take the night off,” Letterman said. “You would sit down and you would keep going. … You were, to me, always a breath of fresh air.”
Ian Eagle, who worked as a board operator for Mike and the Mad Dog early in his radio career.
“And we shared a great deal of personal information with one another for that one year,” Eagle said. “Personal information that I would share with you that two weeks later you would share with the audience on the air!”

Russo, along with Suzyn Waldman and Jeff Smulyan, will be inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame on Tuesday, November 1st.
