Herm Edwards Rejoining ESPN as NFL, CFB Analyst

Former college football and NFL head coach Herm Edwards is rejoining ESPN as an analyst.

Edwards will contribute to SportsCenter, Get Up, NFL Live, and ESPN Radio as part of a new multi-year agreement with the network.

“I’m excited to work at a place that, in my opinion, is the greatest information provider in sports, and to have a role that allows me to give back to fans. I look forward to returning to ESPN where I spent so many wonderful years and established so many incredible friendships.”

Edwards return to ESPN after a stint as the head football coach at Arizona State. Edwards was fired earlier this year after starting the season 1-2. He led the program just over four seasons, compiling a 26-20 record.

“When Herm left for Arizona State, we said we’d keep a seat open for him. After all he did for us on the air and behind the scenes, he deserved that. We are thrilled to welcome him back,” said ESPN Vice President of Production Seth Markman. “There is no better teammate, and we can’t wait for him to bring his unique coaching perspective and passion for the game back for our viewers.”

Edwards worked at ESPN from 2009-2017 as a football analyst before jumping back into coaching with the Sun Devils.

His extensive football career includes playing in the NFL for 10 seasons before coaching in the league from 1990 through 2008.
