MSNBC host Tiffany Cross was abruptly fired after reportedly making a derogatory comment about the State of Florida. On Friday, media pundits reacted to the news.
“Media Buzz” host Howie Kurtz commented about the developments during his Sunday show on Fox News.
“While there are some attempts to blame this on conservative criticism, reports say she warned repeatedly about this,” Kurtz said.
He added that he was always stunned about some of her “racially inflammatory attacks.”
“For instance, calling Justice Clarence Thomas Justice pubic hair on a Coke can and the final straw seemed to be when she went on some interview and talked about a phallic symbol for Florida,” he said.
“Hours later, MSNBC cut ties,” added Kurtz.
According to Variety, there has been speculation that Cross’ relationship with MSNBC was becoming frayed. Cross, a former Washington bureau chief for BET, had worked as a political analyst for MSNBC and was a former resident fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics.
