The latest in the rollercoaster news regarding Twitter is that the company, now owned by Elon Musk, fired 10 employees, leading former radio host and podcaster Joe Walsh to slam the Tesla CEO.
Twitter fired several staffers who made sassy or critical remarks about the current leadership on a Twitter internal Slack channel have been terminated overnight.
Gergely Orosz reported that the fired employees made remarks on internally public watercooler channels, where people joke around or let out the steam.
“For someone who claims to believe in diversity of thought and free & unfettered speech, @elonmusk sure is a super easily offended snowflake,” Walsh tweeted on Tuesday.
The news of the firings comes days after Twitter laid off several contractors without providing any internal memo regarding their employment status.
An estimated 4,400 of its 5,500 contract workers were let go, according to Platformer, which first reported on the cuts.
