FanDuel is considering adding niche sports to its live television lineup to hopefully spur wagering on “less-followed games and matches” according to a report from Bloomberg’s Gerry Smith.
FanDuel CCO Mike Raffensperger said the company is looking at “acquiring ‘under-loved sports’ and airing them on its newly rebranded FanDuel TV network.”
He added such an addition would allow viewers and bettors to “watch and bet on games from such leagues, which may have trouble reaching distribution agreements with traditional media companies.”
FanDuel TV and it’s streaming service FanDuel+ currently plan on airing more than 3,000 hours of live sports, with deals already in place to broadcast professional basketball games from Australia and China.
