Angelo Cataldi ‘Too Emotional’ For Twitter

94WIP morning host Angelo Cataldi is a radio legend, but don’t expect to see him become a social media star any time soon.

Cataldi, who is slated to retire at the conclusion of the Philadelphia Eagles’ season, told listeners Twitter isn’t a great platform for him, and showcased a tweet from a station analyst as a reason why.

“I had a brief dalliance with Twitter, and then I realized that I am too emotional to be successful offering my in-the-moment thoughts on Twitter,” Cataldi said. Later, he asked both Rhea Hughes and Al Morganti about their Twitter presence. Hughes has departed the platform, while Morganti said he uses Twitter but won’t give his thoughts during games because he’s doesn’t want others influencing his opinion on what he’s seeing.

Cataldi then pointed out that former Eagle Seth Joyner, who works as an Eagles analyst for the station, put his foot in his mouth with a tweet during yesterday’s victory.

“Seth Joyner believes in communicating with the people in the moment, and it is not good,” Cataldi joked.

Joyner’s tweet was in regards to Eagles Defensive Coordinator Jonathan Gannon. “He held them to 10 points,” Cataldi argued, saying Joyner “looked like a smacked ass” after his tweet.

“Somebody get some seasoning, because Mr. Joyner has to eat this. He’s gonna have to dine on this crow this morning.”
