Vince McMahon Plotting WWE Comeback Amid New Allegations

Will Vince McMahon make a return to the WWE? That is reportedly his plan according to the Wall Street Journal.

The company’s former CEO and Chairman stepped down in July after it was revealed that he used company money to make payments to cover up sexual misconduct accusations. Joe Palazzolo and Ted Mann report that over five months later, McMahon has told confidants that he believes he received bad advice. The news comes amid two new allegations against him.

“He has said that he received bad advice from people close to him to step down and that he now believes the allegations and investigations would have blown over had he stayed” the article says.

In their article, Palazzolo and Mann reveal that lawyers for former wrestling referee Rita Chatterton have demanded nearly $12 million in damagers. Chatterton accused McMahon of raping her three decades ago, a claim Vince McMahon denies.

Palazzolo and Mann also write that “a lawyer for a former spa manager said that Mr. McMahon assaulted his client in 2011 at a California resort”. This is the first time that attack has been reported on by the media.

New faces have stepped up to run the company since Vince McMahon stepped away. His daughter, Stephanie McMahon, and president Nick Khan took over as co-CEOs. Stephanie’s husband Paul Levesque, known to fans as Triple H, has served as Chief Content Officer. Under their leadership, WWE stockholders have seen their stakes in the company rise by over $8 per share.

The Wall Street Journal column did not reveal any details about McMahon’s plans or what opposition he might face.
