Salem Media Group has new leadership in its Chicago division as the company named John Gallagher from Little Rock to the Windy City as General Manager.
Gallagher knows the market in Chicago after spending time in Chicago at Nexstar’s 720 WGN from 2017-2020, Hubbard’s WDRV/WSHE/WTMX from 2014-2017, and ABC’s WLS/WLS-FM/WRDZ from 2003-2008.
“John joined Salem Media Group in June of this year as our GM in Little Rock, Arkansas,” Salem Senior Vice President, Jeff Reisman, said (h/t Radio Insight). “He was in the process of relocating from Illinois when he learned of this opportunity.
“His track record as a radio management pro and talented leader speaks for itself. His experience specific to the Chicago market makes this an even more obvious choice. He will continue to assist with oversight of Little Rock in the short-term during this transition.”
Salem owns two Chicago stations: Conservative Talk “560 The Answer” WIND and Christian Preaching 1160 WYLL in Chicago.
Gallagher’s arrival fills the opening created by Jeff Reisman’s promotion to Senior Vice President of Operation in September. He will also continue to oversee Salem’s Little Rock group until a successor is named.
