DJ Bean is departing NBC Sports Boston after spending more than six years with the network.
In a tweet last week, Bean called the exit “bittersweet”, adding “I have so much love for everyone there”.
Bean joined NBC Sports Boston after spending six years covering the Bruins and the NFL for WEEI, and contributed to shows like Boston Sports Tonight and PreGame Live. According to a report from Chad Finn of The Boston Globe, Bean’s role on Boston Sports Tonight had diminished after 98.5 The Sports Hub host Mike Felger returned to the show in March of 2021.
Bean has yet to announce where his next stop will be, but did add his final show with the network will be on Friday, December 30th. Finn claimed Bean would be a “nice fit for a place like The Ringer” due to his pop culture knowledge and media experience.
