CNN host Jake Tapper took a shot at former Trump White House Press Secretary and current Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany over her claims about the 2020 election loss of Former President Trump.
Tapper welcomed former White House Communications Director and current The View panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin to his show Monday, after Griffin testified to the January 6th Committee that McEnany knows the claims are baseless.
“You told the committee in your testimony this about former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany,” Tapper said. He then quoted Griffin’s testimony about her former colleague.
“Kayleigh is a liar and an opportunist. I wish her the best but…she’s a smart woman,” Griffin said at the time. “She’s a Harvard law grad. This is not an idiot. She knew we lost the election.”
Monday, Griffin said she holds those who amplified the lies about the 2020 election “in a different category than those who merely remained silent,” adding that McEnany — among others — had “massive platforms” to deter the insurrectionists and refute inaccurate claims about the election.
“She has a huge platform on a different channel,” Tapper said, inferring to her current role on Fox News. “And she, as far as I can tell, doesn’t use it to correct the record.”
