CBS News Welcomes Shanelle Kaul in ‘First of Its Kind’ Role

Canadian journalist Shanelle Kaul is joining CBS News for a new role that will be featured on a wide variety of the network’s platforms.

CBS News is billing her role as a “first-of-its-kind position”, that will see the veteran journalist contribute to the CBS television network, CBS News Radio, CBS Newspath, as well as special event coverage for CBS News.

At CBS Newspath, the network’s satellite news gathering service, she’ll work alongside Jarred Hill who was recently named a morning correspondent for the service.

Kaul — who will be based in New York — joins CBS after a four-year stint at CP24, the most-watched breaking news channel in Canada. Kaul was born in Sri Lanka and grew up in Toronto. She began her career in Canadian television in 2011.

Kaul’s first day with CBS is Friday, January 13th.
