Griff Jenkins Believes Competitors Will Start Covering Border Crisis

President Joe Biden’s trip to the Southern Border and the subsequent reaction by the mainstream media to the story is being closely monitored by Fox News correspondent Griff Jenkins.

Jenkins appeared on “Media Buzz” with Howard Kurtz Sunday to discuss the media’s reaction to Biden’s trip to El Paso, Texas. Jenkins said that he’s been at the border four times this year and the one thing that he’s noticed is that the story is not receiving as much attention as it deserves.

“At least Joe Biden is now acknowledging the problem,” said Jenkins. “Since the day Joe Biden was sworn into office, there have been more than 4.3 million encounters, unprecedented, the border has never been more insecure.”

Jenkins said now that Biden is talking tough about immigration policy the mainstream media may take notice about the crisis and start covering the story.

“If he does that (reform policy), it could maybe be a game-changer and the media may start covering it because of the historic nature of what’s happening here,” Jenkins said.

Jenkins told Kurtz that he hasn’t seen a lot of cameras at the border aside from the day Texas Gov. Greg Abbott held a press conference there.

“This is the fourth time that I’ve been in Eagle Pass, Texas, and I’ve got to tell you that I don’t see a lot of reporters here,” added Jenkins. “I think now what you’re going to see is more of our competitors covering this.”
