It’s been a long couple of weeks for the Biden administration after a classified documents scandal. Fox News host Jesse Watters said it is about time CNN joined other media outlets in criticizing the administration.
“The media has let Biden get away with too much for too long,” the Jesse Watters Primetime host said. “They ignored inflation, gas prices, crime, the border, and they didn’t care. Those were your problems. But finally, the media’s mad about something. Why now? Because they were lied to about the only thing Washington takes seriously: classified documents.”
Watters then turned his attention to a report from CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy, who profiled the White House press corps growing discontent with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
“CNN just put a hit-piece out on The Binder (Jean-Pierre) saying she’s not well-equipped. She’s the least effective White House Press Secretary of the TV era, they say. CNN is even bashing The Binder for her binder, saying she struggles to take questions in the briefing room, and relies on her binder of talking points to respond to a simple question. Is the media frustrated with The Binder? Because The Binder has been babbling for a year, and the media said nothing.”
Darcy’s report detailed several members of the media’s frustration with Jean-Pierre. “I think you can tell the temperature has gone up a lot in the last few days,” one source told Darcy after the Press Secretary fielded questions about whether or not she lied to reporters after claiming there were no more classified documents from Biden’s time as the Vice President to be concerned about. 48 hours later, more documents were discovered that Jean-Pierre reportedly knew about.
“Are you upset that you came out to this podium on Friday with incomplete and inaccurate information? And are you concerned that it affects your credibility up here?” NPR correspondent Tamara Keith asked Jean-Pierre.
One White House reporter told Darcy they feel as if the press briefings from Jean-Pierre are “a painful waste of time”.
