Skyview Networks has alerted affiliates that it will “continue to make progress” as it tries to return to normal operating status after a cyberattack last week.
In a statement, the company said “We are serving our content clients directly to address specific needs and solutions while also coordinating with our network partners and affiliates. We apologize for the disruption we are experiencing and appreciate the industry support and collaboration we have received for programming distribution as well as commercial delivery and schedules.”
What the company is calling an “unauthorized access to its IT environment” incident affected the delivery of CBS World News Roundup to affiliates.
ABC News has also seen alterations due to the cyberattack, and told station affiliates in an email that it cannot provide a timeline for when it will “resume normal operations”.
“Our engineering team has been working through the weekend to create workarounds designed to mitigate the impact of this disruption on our affiliates, and we will continue to do so for as long as it takes,” the email obtained by Barrett News Media said. “We’re also in regular contact with our distribution partner as they work to bring their systems back online.”
The correspondence from ABC News laid out plans for the network’s coverage of the State of the Union address, saying it is “in full prep mode” and that stations “can expect the kind of comprehensive coverage ABC News is known for”.
