Skyview Networks Tells Affiliates Operations Have Returned to Normal

Skyview Networks, a distributor for CBS News Radio and ABC News Audio, suffered a cyberattack that caused major outages and disrupted programming on over 500 radio stations.

The company has hired experts to investigate the attack and restore full functionality, including XDS features such as XDSNMS, receiver schedules, PSI, local schedules, receiver health and information, and XDS terrestrial streaming distribution.

A memo from Skyview Networks states that the company will be restoring its XDS system at 2:10 AM ET/11:10 PM PT. The memo was obtained by Barrett News Media. The restoration is expected to take 30 minutes and will be a passive event, meaning that affiliates are not required to take any action.

Last week, Skyview Networks implied that they experienced a security incident or attack and that it is being cautious in their communication to prioritize the security of their network and the protection of data.

It added that they are limited in providing further details due to ongoing investigations, confidentiality agreements, or concerns about further compromising the security of their systems.

“We apologize for the disruption that this has caused, and our teams and partners are working diligently to swiftly and securely return systems to normal,” the company said.
