JR Jackson has always been a champion of the Special Olympics. The CBS Sports Radio host has made the organization the centerpiece of his Media For the Movement tour, which is entering its third year.
Now Jackson is set to expand that relationship. His company JR SportBrief Productions and Audacy are partnering with Special Olympics for a new podcast called Agents of Inclusion.
“We’re delighted to partner with Special Olympics and JRSportBrief on content and action that will demonstrate our commitment to genuine inclusion, and will introduce listeners to Special Olympics athletes on a personal level they haven’t heard before,” Lena Moss Glaser, the Vice President and Executive Producer of Audacy’s 2400Sports, said in a press release. “We’re looking forward to leveraging our reach to raise awareness for the essential work Special Olympics does throughout the year.”
The partnership includes more than just the podcast. Audacy will connect with Special Olympics Programs across the country to support, volunteer, and get involved with programmed events.
“I’m excited that bringing together Audacy and Special Olympics will bring about conversation, awareness, and more importantly action,” JR Jackson told Barrett Sports Media. “Everyone deserves a chance at a level playing field. Agents of Inclusion will share some amazing athlete stories that will inspire change!”
The first episode of Agents of Inclusion drops Wednesday, February 15. Primarily audio-based, special episodes and promotional content will include video. Audacy, through its sports podcast studio, 2400Sports, will lead on production and distribution of programming.
“Demonstrating the power of inclusion through storytelling is a much more significant influencer of true action when told in a unified way,” Jason Teitler, SVP, Global Communications, and Brand Lead of Special Olympics International added. “Audacy’s vast, growing platform combined with Special Olympics athlete leadership and JR’s dedicated approach to sharing important lessons and insights will transition lives across the nation and beyond.”
