77 WABC has announced the addition of a pair of new shows to its Sunday lineup.
Positively Ernie & Patricia with Ernie Anastos and Patricia Stark will air on the Red Apple Media-owned station on Sundays from 5:00-6:00 PM ET. Anastos has a long history working in New York media, and recently joined the station to host a twice-daily vignette called Positively Ernie.
Former Nassau County Executive Laura Curran will host Cut to the Chase with Laura Curran from 4:00-5:00 PM ET. Curran was the first woman elected the office, and previously wrote for The Daily News and The New York Post. She also sporadically guest hosted Cats at Night — which has since been renamed Cats & Cosby after the addition of Rita Cosby — while host John Catsimatidis was on vacation.
“I’m excited about Ernie’s and Laura’s Sunday programs,” Red Apple Media President Chad Lopez said. “They each bring a passion for New York to their shows that connects with our listeners. It’s terrific content and I’m proud to welcome them.”
“At 77 WABC, we’re doing radio the way it’s supposed to be…. live, local, and BIG,” said Red Apple Media owner John Catsimatidis. “We got rid of all the brokered weekend programs, and we’re replacing them with big-name hosts like Ernie and Laura. I know we’re doing radio the right way because we’re winning!”
Both new shows debuted on Sunday, March 5th.
