Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki recently praised MSNBC for their high reporting standards during an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Psaki highlighted the differences between MSNBC and Fox News, prompting Fox News Radio host Jimmy Failla to criticize her comments on his program “Fox Across America.“
Failla referred to MSNBC as “confirmation bias” and Stephen Colbert’s show as “group therapy for self-hating white people” and suggested that Psaki faced little pushback on the program because of this supposed bias. He went on to claim that false statements made by President Joe Biden were not being called out because of a lack of journalistic integrity.
He then emphasized his own commitment to honesty in his reporting and criticized those he believes are more concerned with pushing their agenda than reporting the truth. He argued that news organizations should prioritize factual reporting and informed opinion.
“These people are so full of it. That’s the thing I’m politically passionate about, and I don’t care what your policies are or who you support,” Failla said.
Psaki had told Colbert that MSNBC employs a rigorous vetting process to ensure that information presented on air is factual and backed up by sources. She also highlighted the importance of informed perspective and experience.
Jimmy Failla argued that some prioritize their interests over truthful reporting.
“I feel an obligation to you, your quality of life, and the impact my words may have on a group of people,” he said. “It’s the people trying to make bad guys, the Rachel Maddow’s of the world, willing to get on TV with Stephen Colbert and tell you with a straight face, no-no, we’re the good guys.”
