After announcing a new midday block of news programming earlier this month, CNN has now debuted the premiere dates for its updated daily lineup.
CNN News Central will debut on Monday, April 3rd. John Berman, Kate Bolduan, and Sara Sidner will anchor the program’s New York edition from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM every weekday.
The new program will air from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM every weekday, as well, with Brianna Keilar, Boris Sanchez, and Jim Sciutto anchoring from Washington D.C. However, that portion of the show will not debut until Monday, April 17th.
Inside Politics — anchored by John King — will remain in the noon window.
The network has modeled the new show after its election coverage and will use “similar technology and storytelling tools, and applies them to news well beyond politics”, a news release states.
A new daytime lineup comes at a time when CNN seeks both viewership gains and stability in its offerings. The network averaged a total audience of 474,000 in February. That number represents a 24% drop from February 2022.
