Last week, Showbiz411.com’s Roger Friedman published a story noting that The New York Post had published 20 stories from one author — Ariel Zilber — about the thoughts and statements from SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly since January 1st. New York radio host Mark Simone questioned just how the former cable news host as garnered so much attention.
During an interview with the website founder, Simone said he had shared the same questions as Friedman.
“I’m reading The New York Post for months and months. Every day, there’s an article about Megan Kelly,” Simone said. “What the hell? Was she paying somebody? What’s going on?
“Some people thought she must have hired the greatest PR person on Earth,” Simone continued. “Some people thought she must be paying this guy. Or maybe there’s some kind of relationship.”
“She’s happily married so I don’t think there’s anything tawdry going on,” Friedman said. “I think there may be some financial consideration going on. But we don’t know about that.”
Simone stated that Kelly’s lack of a national platform — saying her show isn’t on one of the “major talk channels” and airs on a station “where they park the has-beens” — proved Kelly’s lack of relevance to national topics.
Kelly’s program is heard on SiriusXM Triumph, which is channel 111, from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM each weekday. The channel is also home to Dave Ramsey, Glenn Beck, Nancy Grace, and Dr. Laura, among others.
“Well, any editors out there if you got somebody that keeps writing about Megyn Kelly, look into that for us and get to the bottom of it,” Simone concluded.
