Jets GM Surprises Crowd at Boomer & Gio Live Show, Promises Aaron Rodgers in New York

WFAN morning show Boomer & Gio held a live show for their audience in Jersey City over the weekend, and among the guests featured was New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas.

Douglas appeared as a surprise to the sold out crowd, and it didn’t take long for him to be pressed about the trade negotiations between the Jets and the Green Bay Packers in order to acquire future hall of fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The trade talks have been a nonstop topic of discussion in New York since Rodgers revealed on The Pat McAfee Show last month that he desired to be a Jet and that the Packers have been holding up the process.

But Douglas got the Jersey City crowd on their feet at the Boomer & Gio live show when he reassured the audience that Rodgers will be under center at MetLife Stadium come September.

“He’s gonna be here,” Douglas said.

Rodgers hasn’t spoke publicly since his appearance with McAfee, but he said after the season ended and having a change of heart about playing another season versus retiring, he knew his time in Green Bay had come to an end.

The addition of Rodgers would make the Jets one of the odds-on favorites to win the AFC East this year. The Jets haven’t been to the playoffs since 2010 when New York made consecutive AFC championship game appearances.
