The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that on Thursday, KMOX disclosed that Carol Daniel, a well-known radio personality, is retiring after working in the media industry for over four decades.
Throughout her career, Daniel worked with KMOX and received recognition for her work and contributions on various local media and communication boards. Additionally, she hosted Great Day St. Louis on KMOV (Channel 4) from 2008 to 2013 and wrote an award-winning column for nearly a decade in the St. Louis American newspaper.
According to an internal email sent to staff on Wednesday by Becky Domyan, the station’s market manager who oversees its operations, Daniel’s career deserves praise.
“Carol has informed, inspired, and uplifted the people of the St. Louis region,” Domyan wrote in the message. “Beyond her day-to-day role as a news anchor and show host, Carol is an author, motivational speaker, ministry co-leader, wife, and mother. She is truly one of the most inspiring people I have ever met in my career.”
Daniel was recognized as a Living Legend by the Greater St. Louis Association of Black Journalists in 2021. He was inducted into the St. Louis Media Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2022.
