Gator Anderson: ‘I Don’t Respect Peter King’ When It Comes to Mock Drafts

As the NFL Draft approaches, everyone is still trying to figure out who is lying and who is telling the truth when it comes to player evaluations and mock drafts. 97.1 The Ticket host Gator Anderson has some issues with a specific national pundit.

During Karsch and Anderson Monday, Doug Karsch joked that Anderson had gotten “hostile” toward Mel Kiper Jr. for his insinuation that Alabama linebacker Will Anderson would be available for the Lions at #6. But when Peter King had the same scenario playing out, he was still skeptical of the idea.

“Gator’s stubbornness over this is classic Gator,” Karsch said.

“The problem is I respect Mel and I don’t respect Peter King,” Anderson said as he chuckled. “It’s ridiculous. I will shoot the boot in celebration. I don’t care. I’ll drink a beer out of the boot. I’ll shoot the boot if the Lions draft Will Anderson at #6.”

“I want you to drink a beer out of Lois’s dog dish,” Karsch joked.

“You want me to drink a beer out of a dog dish? I’ll do it,” replied Anderson. “That’s fine. I’ll do it, but it’s not gonna happen, because Will Anderson won’t be there at #6.”

In 2022, King was the most accurate national pundit with his final mock draft. He correctly placed 12 picks in the NFL Draft’s first 32 selections.

This isn’t the first time Anderson has made a bet surrounding the NFL Draft. In 2021, he drank beer out of a boot on the air after Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was still available in the 2nd round. He was ultimately drafted by the Cleveland Browns after Anderson wagered that he would be a 1st round selection.
