The deal got worked out quietly, but less than 24 hours after Comcast dropped NFL Media channels from its XFinity lineup, both NFL Network and NFL RedZone are back.
Mike Florio reports that a deal was struck between the heads of both organizations. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Comcast CEO Brian Roberts spoke on Monday afternoon.
No formal announcement came from the conversation. Florio reports that most viewers with complaints and questions found out by asking Comcast customer service on Twitter. “We have renewed our agreement with the NFL Network. At this time, all content has been restored, and you are able to access NFL Network programming as normal,” was the stock response.
An earlier deal between the league and Comcast expired on May 1. Terms of a new deal were not disclosed.
