As reported leaked text messages from Tucker Carlson continue to come in, an interesting nugget was found in the unredacted messages. Fox News host Jesse Watters privately aired his frustration with colleagues Chris Wallace and Neil Cavuto, calling for their firing.
The Daily Beast’s Confider claims that a back-and-forth exchange between Carlson and Watters showed that the Watters’ World host was angry with the way Wallace and Cavuto had handled allegations from then-President Donald Trump and his legal team about the validity of the 2020 presidential election.
“Wallace Cavuto and other (sic) have got to go,” Watters said to Carlson. “Need some fresh blood. Should hire some trump (sic) people.”
Ultimately, Wallace departed Fox News for CNN in 2021. Meanwhile, Cavuto remains with both Fox News and Fox Business Network.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Carlson had criticized Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich for her fact-checking of a Trump tweet, as well as her criticism of primetime host Sean Hannity. Earlier this year, it was revealed that in a group message with Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham that Carlson had also lobbied for Heinrich’s firing after Twitter fact-check of Trump.
“Please get her fired. Seriously… What the f—? I’m actually shocked,” wrote Carlson. “It needs to stop immediately, like tonight. It’s measurably hurting the company The stock price is down. Not a joke.”
