Nick Wright Notes Colin Cowherd Won’t Blame Draymond Green for Warriors Loss

The Golden State Warriors find themselves on the brink of elimination in their series against the L.A. Lakers, and FOX Sports host Nick Wright felt like Colin Cowherd wasn’t laying part of the blame for the Warriors Game 4 downfall on Draymond Green.

Cowherd, on his FOX Sports Radio show on Tuesday, was interviewing Wright talking about the West semifinal series, and Nick thought it was interesting that Colin left Green’s name off the list of Warriors responsible for the loss.

“There is one name that you have not mustered to be able to escape your lips,” Wright said. “And that is everyone’s favorite podcaster, Draymond Green.”

When Green’s playing days are over, many believe he has a bright future in the media. That is in part thanks to his work for The Volume, a digital media company owned by Cowherd.

Nick Wright’s criticism was more playful in nature, but he is not the first media member to point out that Cowherd won’t call Green out when he makes mistakes. Doug Gottlieb made similar comments last month.

Wright pointed out two plays late in Game 4 on Monday night that Green had opportunities to help tip the scales in favor of Golden State but failed. With the Lakers now one win from the Western Conference Finals, Wright was wondering when Cowherd would give him his flowers for boldly choosing the Lakers to win this year’s NBA title.

“At what point, Colin, do I get an apology from you and maybe even J-Mac because you guys laughed at me when I gave you the Lakers at 50:1 six weeks ago to win the title,” Wright said. “I gave it out on this show less than two months ago, they’re now 4:1,” he added. “And you’re in shambles so much that you’re bringing up the ’79 Supersonics as a reason to explain what’s happening.”

Cowherd responded that Wright was on a nice streak of picks, but his luck is going to run out eventually.

“You’re on a Devin Booker heater,” Colin said. “I don’t think it’s sustainable.”
