Mike Gallagher: CNN Trying to Be ‘More Down the Middle’ And It Shows

During his nationally syndicated radio show on Tuesday, Mike Gallagher claimed that CNN is trying to change its approach with the guidance of CEO Chris Licht. Gallagher pointed to statements made by CNN anchor Jake Tapper regarding the Durham Report.

Many conservative commentators praised Tapper for his candor when he openly acknowledged that the report revealed damning information about FBI agents who allegedly allowed their political beliefs to interfere with an investigation into Donald Trump’s connections to Russia during the 2016 election.

Tapper claimed that, to some extent, the report provided a level of exoneration for former President Trump. He stated, “While it may not have fulfilled all the expectations of certain Republicans, it remains highly damaging to the FBI and, to some degree, it clears Donald Trump.”

“That’s pretty big for Jake Tapper to say that this report exonerates Donald Trump,” stated Gallagher.

CNN has dismissed rumors about media reporter Oliver Darcy leaving the network. After Brian Stelter’s departure, Darcy took on the network’s media reporter position. However, Darcy faced criticism from Licht after expressing his disapproval of the network’s handling of the Trump town hall last week.

“CNN is attempting to do things a little differently from the way they’ve been doing it because clearly, it isn’t working for them,” said Gallagher. “Their numbers are in the tank; they get lousy ratings. They got rid of Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo, and the polarizing far lefties.”

“They are trying with this new guy Chris Licht to be more down the middle and a little bit more objective,” he added.
