While scrolling through his Twitter feed on Thursday, Pat McAfee caught a glimpse of a commercial featuring Columbus radio host Bobby Carpenter. The commercial was something McAfee and his crew could not wait to share with the audience.
McAfee mentioned almost in passing to co-host AJ Hawk that he had seen that the 97.1 The Fan host had signed an endorsement deal with Garage Beer.
Hawk said the commercial was pretty sweet, and so naturally the spot was played on the show.
“I’m so happy that I just glimpsed at that at some point during my scrolls earlier,” McAfee said laughing. “Imagine if we didn’t have that in our life.”
Pat McAfee enjoyed just how natural Carpenter was and showcased the beer in a way that only he could.
“That guy, he’s 1 of 1, huh?” he said.
Some of Carpenter’s lines had Pat wondering if the commercial was actually scripted or whether the company thought it would’ve just been more fun to let Bobby be himself.
“He’s either really acting, or he’s practicing his lines and they just took the practice,” McAfee said.
