Fans paying a visit to Wrigley Field and Wrigleyville in Chicago will soon be able to place bets while hanging out at a new DraftKings Sportsbook opening within the month.
The space, which will include a bar and restaurant, will be connected to Wrigley Field, but fans won’t be able to access the ballpark from the facility. Bettors will also have to place wagers on their phones while at the sportsbook, as it doesn’t have approval from state regulators to offer betting kiosks on-premises.
A 2,000 square foot video wall will eventually feature plenty of betting information, but while the sportsbook awaits regulatory approval, it will offer visitors a nice spot to watch one or multiple games at the same time.
FanDuel opened a sportsbook last year next to United Center where the Bulls and Blackhawks play, but they too are still waiting to get the green light to offer betting kiosks.
