TNT, truTV, and HLN broadcasted the eighth version of the golf series The Match last week, and it set a record low viewership record.
782,000 viewers tuned in to watch Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce face off against Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. That figure represents a 46% drop in audience from the 2022 iteration.
The previous low came in 2020 when Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley played against Peyton Manning and Curry, which garnered just over 1 million viewers and was broadcast solely on TNT.
The record high for the event also came in 2020 when Mickelson and Tom Brady faced Tiger Woods and Manning during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. That Memorial Day weekend broadcast featured 5.6 million viewers on TNT, TBS, HLN, and truTV.
