A day after it was revealed that a California radio group had fallen victim to a cyberattack, reports claim Townsquare Media has also been dealing with a similar situation.
A hacker group under the banner of ALPHV took credit for collecting 251 GB of the company’s data.
“Only files created within the past year were selected for download,” the hacker group told Townqaure Media. “You have 7 days to get in touch with us and resolve this misunderstanding to prevent data leakage from your company. If you continue to remain silent, we will be forced to publicly release all of your data.”
The attack against Townsquare is the second in the past five years. In 2019, malware infiltrated the company’s servers and took several stations down in the process.
