Charles Barkley really impressed Paul Finebaum recently.
Barkley recently had his will amended in the aftermath of a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on affirmative action. Chuck has agreed to leave $5 million to Auburn University, his alma mater, to help fund diversity initiatives at the school.
In a recent appearance on The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast, Finebaum said he loved to see Barkley put words into actions.
“I just found that to be a remarkable gesture by Charles,” said Finebaum. “Because a lot of people talk a big game and tweet about how wrong politics are and this politician or some Supreme Court ruling. But Charles actually puts his money where his mouth is; although that’s a big mouth to fill up with a lot of money. I was really struck by that.”
Paul said he does his best to avoid talking politics, but just found that he was struck by Barkley’s generosity.
