Wednesday’s ESPY broadcast averaged a 1.4 rating according to Sports Media Watch. That is about 2.3 million people that were tuned in on ABC.
Last year’s broadcast averaged 2.5 million people, about 7% more than this year.
The 2023 numbers make this years ESPY Awards broadcast the least-watched in a decade, excluding 2020 and 2021, when the event’s schedule was effected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
