ESPN 97.5 Houston host Cody Stoots has revealed that he is leaving the station and Gow Media for a new opportunity. Stoots is the co-host of The Wheelhouse with Jake Asman and Brad Kellner, and has been covering Houston sports on the radio for many years. In addition, he produces his own digital content about the Texans and National Football League on his YouTube channel.
As part of the departure announcement, Stoots shared that his next project will be launching next Monday, but did not divulge whether that opportunity will take place on the radio medium. Throughout the message, Stoots thanked everyone he met at the station and working in radio on a daily basis.
“I’m thankful for my time with The Wheelhouse,” Stoots said in a tweet. “It’s been a blast doing radio with my friends.”
Stoots has been synonymous with the Houston Texans since he started working in Houston-based sports media in 2014 as a host on SportsRadio 610. After working with SportsMap as a Texans contributor both in written and visual form, he joined SB Nation Radio as a host and assistant in sales and marketing. ESPN 97.5 Houston has been his broadcast home since the summer of 2021 following a year of beat reporting and creating content surrounding the team with Maven, and briefly working with OutKick as its director of talent acquisition.
