Saga Communications has announced the promotion of Katie Gambill as its new Director of Innovative Online News Services. In her new role, she’ll lead the expansion of local news at the company’s 27 markets.
“I am excited for the opportunity to spearhead this local online news site launch in other Saga markets. I truly believe these local online news sites will help us to better serve our communities, especially when partnered with the power of radio,” Gambill said.
Gambill’s elevation to this new role comes after serving as the company’s President and General Manager at the Clarksville, TN cluster. At the group, Gambill oversaw the expansion of Clarksville Now, a digital news outlet covering the northern Tennessee city.
Under Gambill’s direction, the company hopes to extend a similar model to its current markets which include Asheville, Columbus, Des Moines, Hilton Head, Milwaukee, and Norfolk, among others.
“We are delighted to have Katie join the corporate team. She has been an elite leader with Saga for 17 years,” said Saga President and CEO Chris Forgy. “Her knowledge, passion, and commitment to excellence in this space is unprecedented.”
