97.3 KIRO in Seattle has announced a pair of new additions to its daily lineup.
Jack Stine and Spike O’Neill will officially take the helm of the 12:00-3:00 PM timeslot on the station on Monday, August 14th. The pair have filled in during the window since the death of longtime host Dori Monson on New Year’s Eve last year.
“I’m thrilled about these new shows, and I hope our audience will be too,” said Bonneville Seattle Director of News and Talk Programming Bryan Buckalew. “Listeners can expect dynamic conversations based on the top news stories of the day, keeping our community informed and entertained.”
Stine has been with the station since 2020 and began hosting the evening program in 2021. O’Neill joined Stine on the show last August after spending more than 25 years at various Seattle stations.
“Jack and Spike have good chemistry and a keen sense of humor. They do a great job of blending informative discussions with lighthearted banter,” Buckalew added. “In an era marked by divisiveness, Jack and Spike emphasize common ground over polarizing debates. Their show demonstrates the power of dissecting complex issues rather than simply magnifying superficial differences.”
With the duo’s move from nights to middays, KIRO is adding former producer Jake Skorheim to the daily lineup to host a new show from 7:00-10:00 PM. It is a homecoming for Skorheim, who returns to KIRO after previously working as Monson’s producer from 2009 to 2016. He has most recently worked as a screenwriter.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have Jake back in the building,” said Buckalew. “He is thoughtful, creative, and has a great sense of humor. I look forward to listening as Jake develops his distinct voice and builds an audience across a diverse range of digital platforms.”
