Fox News is approaching the first of several 2024 Republican Presidential debates, and radio host Chris Stigall shared his displeasure with some of the rules put in place by the cable outlet.
According to a form tweeted by Stigall, Fox News is requiring any clips used by other outlets are required to feature “courtesy of Fox News Channel” in the upper left or right corners of the screen.
Additionally, Fox News is limiting organizations to only utilizing no more than three minutes of excerpts in the debate and are only allowed to use clips for seven days following the debate.
Fox News is also limiting online distribution of clips to only using the embed function from FoxNews.com.
Chris Stigall shared his displeasure on X, formerly Twitter.
“Fox News is telling everyone in media not directly affiliated with them that the August 23rd Republican debate is exclusively theirs and no one is allowed to air any clips of the broadcast beyond three total minutes, and never again after a 7-day window,” Stigall wrote.
“In other words, they’re treating this debate as if it’s an NFL or MLB broadcast. It’s not. This has never been done and deserves a legal challenge.”
Fox News will host the first debate from Milwaukee on Wednesday, August 23rd. Anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will moderate the event.
