Longtime AM 870 The Answer Program Director Chuck Tyler has departed the Salem Media Los Angeles station due to budget cuts.
In addition to programming the conservative news/talk station, Tyler oversaw Christian talk station 99.5 KKLA and contemporary Christian music station 95.9 The Fish as Director of Programming.
Before joining the Salem Media Group stations in Los Angeles, Tyler programmed KCMS in Seattle for 12 years. In total, he has more than 20 years of experience as an on-air host and Program Director.
Tyler’s exit from Salem Media Group coincides with financial struggles for the broadcast company. In the second quarter, the group revealed a 4.2% decrease in revenue compared to the same time period in 2022. Additionally, the company is currently facing de-listing by Nasdaq after its stock price dropped below $1.
Salem Media Group has until December 23rd, 2023 to regain compliance before being delisted by the stock exchange.
