PFT Commenter: The NBA Needs to Learn How to do a Schedule Release from the NFL

Could the NBA afford to liven up the release of its regular season schedule? Barstool’s PFT Commenter thinks so.

On Friday’s edition of Pardon My Take, PFT said the NBA could do better than to just drop its regular season schedule on a random Thursday like it did last week.

“The NBA needs to learn from the NFL and know how to properly do a schedule release,” he said. “I had no idea that the NBA schedule release was today.”

PFT added typically for the NFL, you get the announcement of the date of when the schedule release will be released, the official schedule release date, then the schedule release.

Co-host Dan “Big Cat” Katz chimed in mentioning that usually in that time between the date the NFL schedule is released and the announcement of the schedule release you usually have some leaks about potential marquee matchups. He said you don’t get that with the NBA.

“Would anyone even wanna leak this?” Big Cat asked.

NFL teams have had a lot of fun on social media in recent years unveiling the next season’s schedule. PFT said some razzle dazzle from the NBA could go a long way.

“Maybe the Chargers social media team could do like an anime thing for the NBA and help them out a little bit,” he said. “Get some buzz going.”
