Bloomberg Chief Product Officer Vlad Kliatchko has been named CEO of Bloomberg LP, which owns both Bloomberg Radio and its operated stations in New York (WBBR 1130) and Boston (WNBP 1450).
In an internal memo, company founder Michael Bloomberg assured staffers that the elevation of Kliatchko does not affect his standing with the organization that he returned to run in 2014 after serving as Mayor of New York City.
“I’m sure these changes raise questions about me, so let me put them to rest: I’m not going anywhere,” Bloomberg wrote. “I’ve never used a title in the company, so I won’t change what I’ll be called – just ‘Mike.'”
Also, the company has added Mark Carney — former Banke of England Governor — as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Bloomberg also named Chief Operating Officer JP Zammitt as President and Patti Roskill as its new Chief Financial Officer.
“Much of our success stems from internal mobility, giving the next generation a chance to grow and lead, while bringing in the best and brightest to give us a fresh perspective,” Bloomberg continued.
