Fox News anchor Bret Baier co-moderated the first 2024 Republican Presidential debate Wednesday. Newsmax anchor Eric Bolling claims Baier has ulterior motives when asking candidates questions.
During Eric Bolling The Balance Wednesday, the Newsmax host took a shot at Baier while discussing the debate with former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.
“He shouldn’t join Bret Baier, who is one of the two moderators. Trump had an awful time with Bret Baier. He sandbagged him, he gotcha’d Trump. He did that to you once,” Bolling said before airing a clip of Baier asking Lake about a report that she was a fan of drag queens before launching her candidacy for governor.
“You crushed him, Kari,” Bolling continued. “You did, you wrecked him. But that’s what he’s all about. Gotcha interviews for the soundbite.”
Bolling and Baier previously worked together during the former’s tenure at Fox News. He joined Fox in 2008 before departing in 2017 amid allegations of sexual misconduct. Eric Bolling has continually denied any wrongdoing.
