Forget rumors. Now it is a fact! Shannon Sharpe is joining the cast of First Take. The deal was announced Thursday morning on ESPN.
“It’s all about not standing still and taking it to another level,” Stephen A. Smith said as he acknowledged the success First Take has had with its current crew.
The ESPN deal is announced just one day after Sharpe announced another new deal. His podcast Club Shay Shay is moving to The Volume as part of a larger development deal that will see him create and produce new shows.
Sharpe will be a part of First Take’s cast on Mondays and Tuesdays this fall. His first show will be September 4.
“First of all, thank you for joining the show,” Smith said addressing Sharpe as he looked into the camera. “Secondly, condolences in advance. You’re not used to getting beat down. He’s the modern day Black Hulk. You know, he’s not used to getting beat down.”
More changes appear to be coming to First Take. Smith promised more news in about a week.
