Could the world soon get a book penned by Michael Kay and Don La Greca about ESPN New York? The idea has been discussed.
Friday on The Michael Kay Show, Kay mentioned that it had been suggested to him that they write a memoir about the station.
“That unfortunately can’t come until after we’re not under contract anymore,” La Greca said.
“I think if this book’s gonna sell, Michael, we need to give the in-depth dirt, and you can’t do that while you’re working,” Don added.
Kay suggested that a lot of the people they have dirt on are gone anyway, so why would their contract status prevent them from putting something out?
“We can bury people,” Kay said. “What are they gonna do, fire us?”
“There’s nothing bad really but it does paint some people in a tough light,” La Greca said.
“Well good,” Kay responded. They deserve it.”
Don admitted he always wanted to write a book just didn’t know if he was smart enough to do it. That’s why he’d hire some outside help to tell the story he wants told.
“I want the book to really be good, I want to do well,” he said.
“If we could somehow maneuver our way back to the top of the ratings I think that would be a good book,” Kay responded.
