Two-time Super Bowl champion and former National Football League defensive end Chris Long is launching his own media company that will seek to blend sports and culture in creating informative and entertaining content. Yote House Media will be a full-service production company and content studio and start with its flagship podcast, Green Light with Chris Long, which first took to the mainstream upon his retirement in 2019. Two additional shows are joining the podcast to bolster its content portfolio as the football season continues to ramp up.
Fax and the King, which launched over the summer, includes former NFL players Nate Collins and Beau Allen discussing viral moments, pop culture news and, of course, college football. The podcast will be presented in video form and gives viewers new ways to engage with the content and provide their insights and reactions. Launching next year will be Life After with David Vobora, which will uncover stories of overcoming life-altering events and discovering newfound hope and courage in the process. The company seeks to collaborate with luminaries and thinkers that will enrich traditional sports conversation and promulgate new perspectives.
The Green Light podcast will retain all existing partnerships, including with Blue Wire Podcasts, as part of the deal. Additionally, it will unveil a new live show format on Monday mornings at 10 a.m. EST/7 a.m. PST hosted by Chris and his brother Kyle, along with former defensive tackle Nate Collins. The podcast will feature weekly contributors including ESPN personality “Stanford” Steve Coughlin, The Athletic senior NFL insider Diana Russini and former NFL head coach Jeff Fisher among others.
“When I started recording Green Light, success was no sure thing, but it has been thrilling to see the growth of the show over the last few years,” Long said in a statement. “Our cast and crew has expanded, we’ve been blessed with incredible guests and have worked hard at developing dynamic content and connecting with our fanbase. As Green Light has grown, so has our ambition to do more content development, which is why the launch of Yote House Media is a natural next step as we continue to expand.”
Scott Reinen has been named the company’s first chief executive officer, furthering a partnership that began when he was at Blue Wire as its head of content until last October. Reinen previously served as the CEO of Long’s “Chalk Media,” a venture that helped support the growth of Green Light as a brand. Yote House Media will center on accentuating the brand affinity through the creation of new intellectual property and innovative production capabilities.
“We’re excited to continue to build on the success of Green Light and expand our offerings by creating more authentic content with athletes and partners,” Reinen said in a statement. “The media landscape continues to grow and evolve, and we’re committed to fostering a collaborative environment open for business.”
